Absentee Voting

CLERK OFFICE HOURS: MONDAY, WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY 10 AM-1 PM

WEEKEND OFFICE HOURS BEFORE THE PRIMARY ELECTION: The Lima Township Clerk will have office hours on Saturday, November 5th, from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM for residents wishing to vote or registering to vote. Proper ID and proof of residency are required.

Completed applications may be mailed to the Lima Township Clerk at P.O. Box 59, Chelsea, MI 48118; scanned (a signature is required) and emailed to voter@limatownshipmi.gov, or deposited in the black drop box at 12172 Jackson Rd, Dexter, MI.

Absentee ballots, after voted, may be mailed to P.O. Box 59, Chelsea, MI 48118 or deposited in the black drop box at 12172 Jackson Rd. until 8:00 p.m. on all election nights.

On Election Day, DO NOT bring absentee ballots to the voting precinct, unless it is to surrender your ballot and vote in person.

Voters who have been issued Absentee Ballots but now wish to vote in person must bring that ballot to the precinct and surrender it prior to voting in person.

The Lima Township Voting Hall is located at 11452 Jackson Rd, Dexter, MI. If you have questions about voting or registering to vote in Lima Township, contact the clerk at 734-475-2246 ext.203.

Voting Polls open at 7:00 AM and close at 8:00 PM on all Election Days

The Clerk’s Office will be open for voter registration (with proper address verification and ID) and to issue absentee ballots for the 11/8/2022 General Election on and at the following days and times: SEE ABSENTEE VOTING.

PUBLIC LOGIC & ACCURACY TEST FOR THE NOVEMBER 8, 2022 GENERAL ELECTION – NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to the qualified electors of Lima Township, Precincts #1 & #2, that a Public Logic & Accuracy Test for the November 8, 2022, General Election is scheduled for Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at 10:00 AM at the Lima Township Hall, 11452 Jackson Road, Dexter. The Public Logic & Accuracy Test is conducted to demonstrate that the election equipment and computer program used to record and count the votes cast at the election meet the requirements of Michigan State Election Law MCL 168.798(1).

 NEW VOTER ID CARDS ARE BEING MAILED TO EVERY REGISTERED VOTER. ALL  DISTRICTS HAVE CHANGED EXCEPT FOR COUNTY COMMISSIONER. YOUR PRECINCT AND POLLING LOCATION HAS NOT CHANGED.

Voting Precincts

As of March 1st, 2017, Lima Township has two voting precincts. Pursuant to MCL 168.661 Michigan Election Law 116 of 1954.  When the voter registration in a precinct using voting machines exceeds 2,999, the precinct shall be divided or rearranged.  Click on Resolution to read the The Lima Township Election Commission resolution passed at the 3/1/2017 meeting to officially split Lima Township into two voting precincts.
